On a clear day the view from the peak is one of the most breath-taking sights in England.
Grab friends and family from across the country for this challenging event, climbing England's highest mountain. This is not an easy event, there will be sweat, quite possibly tears and we promise your legs will ache afterwards, but its an amazing chance to get together and help fight for a life unlimited for those affected with Cystic Fibrosis.
How to join us on Scafell Pike in 2019;
In return for a registration fee of £65 and a minimum sponsorship pledge of £475 your Scafell Pike Challenge includes all of this:
- Two nights BB&D accommodation in a fabulous Lake District Hotel*
- A goody bag on arrival
- Transfer from Penrith - Scafell - Penrith if requried
- Packed lunch for your walk
- Experienced guides to lead your Scafell Pike Challenge
*Rooms are based on two sharing (if you require a single room please contact us). We also have a limited number of family rooms that sleep 3, please specify if this is a requirement and we will do our best to accommodate.
Travel to Cumbria on Friday to start the ascent on Saturday morning, with your transfer back to Penrith on the Sunday morning if needed. Due to the nature of this event we have to be quite strict with timings. Please see our itinerary below before you make any plans or commitments.
Friday 2nd August:
3.30pm: Minibus arrives at Penrith train station for those needing transfers, leaving promptly at 3.45pm
5.00pm: Arrive at the Hotel (journey time depends on traffic)
7.30pm: Evening meal
9.00pm: Briefing with the CF Trust representatives in the hotel
9.30pm: Free time to relax in the hotel bar or head to bed
Saturday 3rd August:
7:45am : Full English breakfast
8:15am: Day Only walkers to arrive at the hotel
8:30am: Set off on foot for Scafell Pike
9:00am: Briefing from our guides who will assist our safe climb
9:15am: Begin walking
3.00pm: Summit. Weather permitting, we stop for a photo and admire the view!
3.15pm: Start the descent back to the base
5.30pm: Arrive back in the base of Scafell.
7:30pm: Dinner in the hotel
9.00pm: Congratulations! Presentation of certificates in the hotel
Sunday 4th August:
8.00am: Full English breakfast
10.00am: Check out of rooms
10:30am: Minibus leaves or Penrith station for those needing transfers
