Run for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust
We've got runs of all shapes and sizes, so whether you're a seasoned pro looking for the next big challenge or a newbie who wants to have some fun and do something worthwhile at the same time, we know you'll find something suitable.
What support will I get?
We'll provide you with your very own Team CF running top to wear with
pride, as well as help and support to make the most of your training
and fundraising. Check out the event pages for more detail, as you'll
find many with race-day hospitality, massages and refreshments!
In need of inspiration for ways to raise your target? Check out our tips on how to organise a fundraising event! If you are doing a challenge for the Trust, you can also get a three month free membership at Pactster, which offers exercise videos and community support to people with health conditions, and now our incredible supporters as well!
What will your personal best acheive?
In 2017 over £940,000 was raised through runs alone! That's enough to fund one of our ground-breaking Strategic Research Centres (SRCs), like our Pseudomonas SRC run by Professor Jane Davies which is looking to discover better detection methods, better understanding, and better treatments for this dangerous bug. And even after all of that, there would still enough money left over to pay for two PhD or early-career scientists to join one of our SRCs for four years. How's that for a run around the block?
Juliet has cystic fibrosis and is using her ballot place in this year’s London Marathon to run for Team CF. She started running as an alternative to physio, and started pushing herself to run longer distances so that she could fulfil her secret dream of running the London Marathon.
She said: “My sister and I have a tradition of going to cheer on the London Marathon runners together every year (we’ve always cheered extra loud for Team CF, obviously). I was bouncing off the walls when I found out I got a ballot place – this time, my sister will get to cheer me on!
“I want to run a marathon and I want to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust to help others - what better idea than to combine the two? The next six months aren’t going to be easy and probably won’t be plain sailing but it’d be no fun if it was...”
Do you have a dream like Juliette? We’ve got runs for all abilities.
