'Pass the mic' hackathon is a digital invention marathon for people with cystic fibrosis (CF) and their mates, kindly sponsored by St James's Place Foundation. Teams will have just five hours to brainstorm awesome projects to help other young people living with cystic fibrosis! It’s fast-paced, creative and fun… and the team that presents the most exciting idea will win a prize.
You can sign up as a fully-formed team of existing friends or individually and meet people to team up with on the day. The theme for this year’s hackathon is finding ways to support young people with their CF treatments.
Saturday October 29 2016, 10am-4pm; from the comfort of your own sofa!
Who can take part?
Anyone under 25 who has CF can register for this event. You can create a team of up to six people. On the day, you can choose to hang out in person with friends who don’t have CF, chat digitally with your online CF friends or a combination of the two. If you’re registering as an individual, we’ll team you up digitally with other young people with CF from across the UK.
What do I need?
You’ll need a wifi connection and some way of accessing Google Hangouts and Facebook – ideally a computer or tablet, though a smart phone could work as well. We’ll send you everything else you’ll need (read: pizza vouchers!).
Tell me more about this prize?
The winning team members will win a £50 Amazon gift card each. There will also be prizes for the team with the most creative idea and the most engaging presentation.
Okay, sounds good; how do I get involved?
