Paula Sommer, Head of Research

"I am the Head of Research at the Trust. I oversee the management of the Trust's research portfolio. Our team works to implement the Trust's five-year research strategy by administering the grants awarded to scientists and clinicians working on projects in the area of cystic fibrosis. We work with the Strategy Implementation Board, consisting of a panel of experts in various scientific fields, to ensure that the Trust is investing in cutting-edge research that will be of real benefit to the CF community."

Clark Burscough, Research and Grants Manager

"In my role I work closely with our Research and Grants Officer and Accounts Team, as well as with external funding partners and institutions to ensure that all grants funded by the Trust are administered in a timely and efficient manner. I also collaborate with our Communications and Fundraising Teams to help make the findings from projects the Trust funds easy to understand so that members of the wider CF community, potential funding partners and the media are able to find out more and see how our research strategy is working towards the goal of a life unlimited by cystic fibrosis."

Belinda Cupid, Senior Impact AdviserDr Belinda Cupid, Senior Impact Adviser

“My role is to explain the research that the Trust is funding and to assess its impact. I work with colleagues to clearly explain our research grants, bring to life progress made and put CF research news in context. I collect, analyse and interpret information on the impact of Trust-funded research. This helps us to share with the CF community what has been achieved through our research-funding schemes, evaluate the outcomes of our funding and generate income to continue to fund CF research into the future. “If you have news to share about your research or questions about Researchfish please get in touch.”
