Paula Sommer, Head of Research

"I am the acting Head of Research. I oversee the management of the Trust's research portfolio. Our team works to implement the Trust's five-year research strategy by administering the grants awarded to scientists and clinicians working on projects in the area of cystic fibrosis. We work with the Strategy Implementation Board, consisting of a panel of experts in various scientific fields, to ensure that the Trust is investing in cutting-edge research that will be of real benefit to the CF community."

Clark Burscough, Research and Grants Manager

"I am the Research and Grants Manager. In my role I work closely with our Research and Grants Officer and Accounts Team, as well as with external funding partners and institutions to ensure that all grants funded by the Trust are administered in a timely and efficient manner. I also collaborate with our Communications and Fundraising Teams to help make the findings from projects the Trust funds easy to understand so that members of the wider CF community, potential funding partners and the media are able to find out more and see how our research strategy is working towards the goal of a life unlimited by cystic fibrosis."

Frances Robinson, Research and Grants Officer

"I am a Research and Grants Officer. In my role I process and administer the Trust's various research grant programmes and awards. I monitor grant budgets and appropriate payment of grants and awards, prepare grant award letters, monitor reports, administer advisory committees and provide administrative support for the peer review process."
