Research sandpits stimulate new thinking and innovation, and are particularly effective in promoting the interdisciplinary approaches to solving complex biomedical problems.
The idea of a research sandpit is to identify an area where there is a shortfall in expertise within the cystic fibrosis research community, and create an environment for experts outside of cystic fibrosis and established cystic fibrosis researchers to explore ways of working together to crack a major problem.
