Christmas
Christmas is full of surprises, from advent calendars to hidden presents. But families affected by CF can face a very different kind of surprise – the possibility of spending Christmas apart because of a hospital stay.
Your donations help fund research into better treatments, so families like Layla’s can spend less time in hospital and more time together at Christmas.
“Layla is pure sunshine in a three-year-old’s body. Despite everything she has faced in her young life, she is full of love, laughter and happiness,” says Rula, Layla’s mum.
Last year, Layla was admitted to hospital with an infection just before Christmas. Her mum, Rula, was worried they’d both spend Christmas Day in hospital, away from her other three children. The hospital trained Rula to administer Layla’s IV antibiotics herself, meaning they could finally spend Christmas Day at home.
“Layla’s counting down the days to Christmas. I’m counting down the days until there’s a new treatment to help her,” says Rula.
Life with CF is hard. It never takes a break, even at Christmas. Donate today to help give the gift of more Christmases together.
