Clinical Training Fellowship Programme 2022/2023

Cystic Fibrosis Trust is calling for applications from adult specialist CF centres for a one-year grant of £75,000 to train adult physicians in the management of cystic fibrosis. This year the funding is provided for a post to be appointed to by the successful centre.

  • What is the Clinical Training Fellowship Programme?

This scheme will provide specialist training in CF medicine and aims to train the future leaders of specialist adult CF care.

The programme will also give successful Fellows the opportunity to embark on clinically-based research, service evaluation or quality-improvement projects, which will dovetail into their clinical training programmes.

The Trust’s Clinical Training Fellowship Programme has sponsored dozens of physicians to invest their work in cystic fibrosis across many decades and many of the best and brightest leaders working in CF in the UK today have benefited from this vital support.

  • Application process

All specialist adult CF centres are encouraged to apply and the deadline for applications is  19 December 2022, with the grant awarded to the successful candidate before April 2023.

Applications by the centre must include:

    • A covering letter with a description of the training opportunity.
    • An outline of the potential internal and external training experiences.
    • A description of a proposed research or quality improvement project and the support that will be provided.
    • A basic timetable describing the average proposed number of clinical, research, personal development sessions.

Please send the accompanying documents to [email protected] by the deadline.

It is the responsibility of the centre to advertise and appoint to the role and candidates should usually be within two years (pre- or post-) of receiving a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and would usually plan to commence the post by August 2024.
