Some volunteering opportunities we are looking for people to commit for the long term, short term, on an adhoc basis, or a regular basis. Many of our roles can be flexible around your working, education or other volunteering, dependent on the role. Some of our roles are in our Head Office in London, while others are within our communities around the UK and others have no fixed place.

Regional roles across the UK

Ambassador volunteer in the East region

We're looking for confident volunteers to help our community fundraising team raise awareness of cystic fibrosis in areas including Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire. You'll help deliver presentations and talks to schools, business and community groups in your local area. These presentations will highlight the effect of CF on people with the condition, and their families, as well as highlighting how fundraising money is spent by the Trust.

Business Service Admin Assistant Volunteer

We are looking for volunteers with office admin skills and experience of working/volunteering in a busy office to help the Business Services team deliver these essential services.

Event Administration Volunteer

We are looking for volunteers to help support our event fundraising team, which works with supporters and fundraisers from all across the UK who organise events.

The volunteers will support the team in all administrative tasks for the department.

Remote and online volunteering opportunities

Location isn’t key for these roles, and you can apply for these roles and volunteer from anywhere in the UK. Many of these roles, however, will require your own equipment to be able to volunteer, for example access to internet.

Recruitment Assistant Volunteer

The Involvement and Volunteering team supports the whole Trust with volunteering in a variety of ways, providing guidance and supporting in managing and developing volunteering roles. The purpose of this role is to support the Involvement and Volunteering Manager by developing and managing our external advertising for volunteer roles. This would enable the Trust to more effectively recruit skilled volunteers relevant and local to the organisation.

Creative Photography Volunteer

We need volunteers to capture images that tell a whole story in a single frame. This is a great opportunity for reliable, enthusiastic and creative photographers to make a difference while having the opportunity to see their images on our website, in print and on our social media channels.

General tasks include: collating all photos taken after the event/photoshoot and sending to the Content Team; participating in evening and weekend events/activities when needed; arranging props/material for photoshoots; capturing images, within agreed timeframes, to display and color compliance standards; performing quality control checks on images, according to guidelines; post-processing of images, including cropping, colour corrections, etc; and, naming digital files and creating metadata/tags as required for upload to the photo library.

Fundraising Volunteer

We are looking for fundraising volunteers to help organise, run and promote a variety of activities and events throughout the UK. You will be supported in your role by the community fundraising manager in your area.

Speaker Volunteer

We are looking for speaker volunteers with good presentation skills to work alongside regional staff to raise awareness of cystic fibrosis and the Trust. Volunteers will attend events and presentations to schools and community groups.

Travel and food expenses

We do our best to ensure our volunteer roles are accessible and inclusive and as such have an expenses policy. This is in addition to providing a variety of opportunities to volunteer with various types of commitment needed and the opportunity for flexible working.

As our roles are voluntary we provide expenses agreed in advance for travel and lunch. In line with our volunteering expenses policy we provide expenses for lunch for up to £5 per day for those who volunteer a full day, and travel expenses with a receipt for public transport and 45p per mile for those who drive.
