Dad of daughter with CF rallies B&Q colleagues to raise over £50,000 in London Marathon effort
Jamie Bunting only started running in March 2020 – but has since become the biggest London Marathon fundraiser ever for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Jamie, 44, is the B&Q Regional Manager for East Anglia – and his colleagues have rallied around his fundraising attempt, with 40 B&Q stores taking part.
Jamie’s three-year-old daughter, Margot, is his inspiration for taking on his mammoth fundraising challenge.
Margot was diagnosed with CF shortly after birth.
Jamie said: “This is the first ever fundraising event I’ve ever done. I only started running last March.
“Margot is my inspiration. She blows me away. She lives life to the full every day.
“Being only three, she doesn’t understand what she’s got, she accepts it for what it is and doesn’t know any different.
“She’s inspirational, yet it is heart-breaking that my little girl has to deal with this.
“I want to be able to inspire her by doing something that I have never done before!”
Jamie is running with best pal Lauren Stroud, who is also fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
We would like to say a massive thank you to Jamie, Lauren and the rest of the staff at B&Q, and wish him the very best of luck in his attempt!
