FeBrewary is back for 2025 and by holding your own tea party or coffee morning, you can help fund research to find better treatments that work for everyone with CF.

Tim and daughter RiverWhether it’s at home, work, or at your school or college, gather together friends and family for a tea party, stick the kettle on and raise vital funds so we can help support even more people with cystic fibrosis.

The printing company Rocket got involved last FeBrewary, raising an incredible £10,300 for Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Ahead of their second FeBrewary event this year, we spoke to Lisa, who works at Rocket, about their inspiration and top tips for other businesses wanting to get involved.

Can you tell us about the inspiration behind your FeBrewary event last year?

Our colleague Tim, pictured, is such a valued member of the Rocket team and from past conversations, it was clear how much his daughter River's cystic fibrosis impacts the whole family's everyday life. Tim had expressed how grateful he was for the support they've had through the Trust, so it was an obvious choice, to raise funds and awareness.

Can you tell us about the event itself? How did staff get involved?

The event itself was originally planned to be an exercise to raise funds and awareness, which it did very successfully! But the wider impact was a great team effort from all the staff at Rocket who really pulled together to produce some incredible cakes, biscuits and even samosas, to help raise funds. We even had support from the wider Watford community with contributions of prizes to be included in our raffle. Everyone came out in force to support the event and listen to the insights given by Kevina, our Cystic Fibrosis Trust fundraising rep, and Tim, who shared some of the realities of the impact CF can have on not just those living with the condition, but those who care for them as well.

“It was brilliant to get everyone at work involved in a FeBrewary tea party and we raised over £10,300 for Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a charity that has been very supportive to our family as we navigate River’s CF journey. River is a wonderful little girl, and my hope is she can look forward to a bright future; a future where CF doesn’t hold her back in any way.”

What was the most rewarding part of organising your tea party?

I think it has to be seeing the community spirit and the love for Tim and his family. It was a really emotional day and so incredible to see how many people really wanted to show their support.

What would you say to other companies thinking of holding a FeBrewary fundraiser this year?

Do it! It's a really great experience and the more you put in, the more you get out.

Do you have any top tips to make it a success?

Make it bigger. We started out with plans for a small internal event, but it grew into something for the whole of Croxley Park and the local community and without their support, we wouldn't have raised as much money as we did.

A big thank you to everyone at Rocket for their continued support.

If hosting an event isn't for you, why not raise money in a different way? You could give up coffee or tea for the whole of FeBrewary and get your friends and family to sponsor you. For loads more ideas, tips and inspiration, sign up today and get your free fundraising pack.
