Nicole talks BodyPositive
Trust-supporter Nicole Allen has shared her experience of living with cystic fibrosis as part of ‘BodyPositive’, a new campaign launched by the BBC today to inspire young women and highlight the importance of physical and mental wellbeing.
Nicole is already familiar to readers of her blog ‘Living and Breathing CF’, where she chronicles the highs and lows of life with the condition, and now the 17-year-old hopes to raise awareness of the condition, and the importance of improving wellbeing, among a wider audience.
In a short film available to view online Nicole talks about how she stays positive, despite her fears for the future.
“I love sport," she says, "it’s the thing that makes me the happiest! It’s to get outdoors, it’s to have fun and to actually forget about everything else that’s going on at that period of time.”
BodyPositive is aimed at women aged 16 to 24, and looks to develop an online community of people who can inspire and empower each other through improving physical and mental wellbeing.
In the Winter issue of 'Is' magazine, the Trust announced Activity Unlimited, a programme aimed at getting the entire cystic fibrosis community active, to promote healthy lungs.
