Our September Media Roundup

News -

This month our amazing fundraisers ran the Great North Run, we continued to work on Creon and commented on the latest NHS report.

Great North Run

The awesome fundraising group “Team Ewan” led by Derick Jackson & Graham Ravenhall, took part in the Great North Run to raise funds for the Trust. They took on the challenge in an amazing Tyne Bridge costume and spoke to the BBC about the inspiration behind their fundraising - Graham’s nephew Ewan who has CF. We’d like to say a big Thank You to Team Ewan for their continued support for the Trust.

Creon

We worked with the Welsh parliament,  to raise awareness of the Creon supply issues affecting the CF community. You can read the article here.

Lord Darzi Report

We commented on the Lord Darzi report that was released earlier this month, which highlighted the current challenges the NHS are facing. We will continue our campaigning work to ensure that the needs of the CF community are at the centre of the new health strategy. You can read our comment here.

Collaborative Discovery Programme

The CF AMR Syndicate which is a partnership between Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Medicines Discovery Catapult (MDC) and LifeArc, announced the first three companies to be awarded its Collaborative Discovery Programme (CDP) funding.

The £3 million programme funded by the medical research charity LifeArc, will support six projects to develop new treatments to combat lung infections for people living with CF. You can read more about the programme here.
