Our celebrity ambassadors and supporters

Our celebrity ambassadors and supporters help us to raise vital awareness of cystic fibrosis (CF). Find out more about the celebrities that support our work.

Our Patron
HRH, the former Prince of Wales
His Majesty, the King, has been Patron of Cystic Fibrosis Trust, since 2014. We are grateful for his continued support of those affected by cystic fibrosis.

Our ambassadors
Jenny Agutter
Jenny Agutter, actor and star of the BBC’s Call the Midwife, is a celebrity ambassador for Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Like 1 in 25 people in the UK, Jenny carries the cystic fibrosis (CF) gene. Jenny’s niece and great-nephew have CF, so she knows the full impact of the condition on her family. Her passion for our work is vital in our fight for a life unlimited for all with cystic fibrosis.
Jenny said: “My niece, Rachel, and my great-nephew, Albie, have cystic fibrosis. I know first-hand the impact this condition has, on families. The determination and resilience of the families I have met over the years continues to inspire me.
“Cystic Fibrosis Trust’s work is vital, providing life changing world class research, day to day care and support as well as campaigning for life saving drugs for all. I am proud to be an ambassador for Cystic Fibrosis Trust as they tirelessly strive to ensure a future where everyone with CF can live a life unlimited."

James Dunmore
James Dunmore, star of Made in Chelsea, sadly lost both of his sisters, Lucinda (19) and Jodi (22) to CF when he was a young boy. James raised thousands of pounds for Cystic Fibrosis Trust by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and running the London Marathon. James also supported our campaign calling for access to life-saving drugs Orkambi and Symkevi on the NHS.

Richard Madeley
Richard Madeley, journalist, TV presenter and writer, is a celebrity ambassador for Cystic Fibrosis Trust. He has supported us for over 15 years.
Richard said: “I’ve been a supporter of Cystic Fibrosis Trust for over 15 years. I was first introduced through Nicky West, an incredibly special woman who sadly died from CF in 2004 at the age of 30. As with many people who have this life-shortening condition she didn’t take life for granted and made the most of it.
"I’ve seen so many in the community fight long and hard for life saving drugs. We won’t stop fighting until everyone with CF can live a life unlimited.”

Rob Law MBE
Rob Law MBE, creator of the Trunki children's suitcase, is our celebrity ambassador and Club Patron for the Sixty Five Roses Club.
Rob said: “I first came up with the concept for a ride-on suitcase when I was still at university in 1997 and, despite being turned down by the infamous dragons on BBC’s Dragon’s Den, among other setbacks, I never let anything hold me back. Over two million Trunkis have been sold worldwide and our products are now on sale in 97 countries.
"What many people don’t know about me is that I have cystic fibrosis. I have never let it stand in the way of achieving my goals in life, from being a director of my own company, to living and working abroad, raising a family and meeting my own health and fitness challenges."

Our celebrity supporters
Roger Black
Roger Black MBE is a former Olympic, European, Commonwealth and World Championship athlete. As an Olympian his words of encouragement have been a great source of support for our marathon runners.

Vincent Franklin
Vincent Franklin, actor, and star of The Thick of It, Happy Valley and Cucumber, has supported Cystic Fibrosis Trust since 2022. He helped the Trust raise awareness of the struggles the CF community faced during the cost of living crisis and is always keen to support our fundraising events and activities. “What I love about the Trust is that it’s making people’s lives better right now, and is also working to make the future better for everyone living with CF," Vincent says.
