A winning design has been chosen for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust’s 2016 Christmas card competition! Enya (pictured), aged 11, has a brother with cystic fibrosis. She said: “I was so happy and surprised to find out I had won the competition. I hope my card design raises lots of money to help people like my brother, who has cystic fibrosis.
“Last Christmas my brother and I put on a show for our family and friends and sold biscuits to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. This year we also hope to take part in a 5km run.”
The competition was open to all budding artists under the age of 12 who have cystic fibrosis or a close relative with the condition. The winning design (pictured) will be the star of the Trust’s 2017 card collection, and Enya will receive £100 in vouchers kindly donated by Sainsbury’s, which she told the Trust she will put towards a laptop for when she starts secondary school.
Chloe Ainsley, Graphic Designer at the Trust, said: “It was hard to choose just one winner from all the wonderful designs we received! Last year we sold nearly 400 packs of cards and we’re sure Enya’s design will fly off the shelves too. Congratulations to her and everyone who entered the competition.”
It will also be possible to buy multipacks of cards featuring the brilliant designs by runners-up Kayleigh, Anish, Daisy and George shown in the photo gallery below.
