How we're lifting the limits this CF Week
As we approach CF Week, I want to thank everyone in our Community who will be uniting with us at this special point in the year.
At the Trust, we want everyone with cystic fibrosis to be physically well, mentally well and able to reach their full potential in a world that understands their needs and supports them in overcoming challenges.
Life with CF can be tough. Unpredictable. Limiting. But our Community has shown that when it unites it becomes unstoppable. It is thanks to you that we can continue to advocate for improved care, offer information and support and fund vital research to create the new treatments that are so vital.
Thank you for speaking out, for sharing your stories – your truths, and for helping us open up conversations about what it’s like to live with a life-long and life-limiting condition.
The last few years have been a period of rapid change for many people with CF and we will do all we can to ensure that continues for everyone in the years ahead.
As the only UK-wide organisation dedicated to supporting and advocating for people with CF, we know that the Trust has a vital role to play in driving forward positive change.
David Ramsden
We are in a time where there will be more people living with CF in the UK than ever before. For many, lives are getting longer and healthier. More young people will be completing education with the prospect of many years of employment. However, we know that some people with CF currently don’t have the imminent prospect of life changing treatments and for some the drugs don’t do what they hoped for. This means that we are facing a future where the Community’s health, treatment and support needs will become more diverse and complex.
As the only UK-wide organisation dedicated to supporting and advocating for people with CF, we know that the Trust has a vital role to play in driving forward positive change.
During CF week we will be sharing how we are working to lift the limits so that everyone with CF can live a long and full life – this could be anything from breaking down barriers so that everyone can access education and employment opportunities, starting conversations to raise awareness or supporting people with their physical and emotional challenges.
We have a vision that every person with cystic fibrosis can live a long and full life, but to get there we will need family. Friends. Doctors and nurses. Physios, dietitians, psychologists, social workers, scientists and researchers. Supporters. Campaigners. Volunteers. You!
Thank you again for uniting with us this CF Week, and remember to join us for Wear Yellow Day on Friday 17 June!
Together, we will make sure everybody with CF can live without limits.
