'Trek for Charlie' hand in petition to Number 10 Downing Street calling for free prescriptions for everyone with cystic fibrosis
RAF Squadron leader Nick Smith and fellow RAF serviceman Liam Summerfield walked 265km in five days to 10 Downing Street with a petition, which over 15,000 people from the community signed, calling for free prescriptions for everyone with cystic fibrosis. Nick spoke to the Express about his challenge this month, which he's calling 'Trek for Charlie' after his daughter Charlotte, who has cystic fibrosis.

Charlie Merriman and Yvonne Hughes perform at Edingburgh Fringe
Two comics with cystic fibrosis performed at Edinburgh Fringe
this month. Charlie Merriman performed his one- man comedy show 'WONDERDRUG: a comedy about cystic fibrosis' and Yvonne Hughes from Scotland performed standup comedy at the Fringe, having only taken up comedy three years ago.

Children's book written based on a boy with cystic fibrosis
A new children’s book written about a boy with cystic fibrosis has been published this month. The book, Amazing Albert The Hero! Was written by Juli Frances Taylor and BBC Radio Oxford presenter Adam Ball and based on Adam's son, Albert.

NHS England announce COVID-19 booster jabs for people with cystic fibrosis
Last but not least, NHS England have announced that people with cystic fibrosis are eligible for the Autumn COVID-19 booster jabs. The jabs will be available from the 11th of September for people with CF, following confirmation from NHS England.
