We won’t stop until CF does
Many of you will already be aware that 2024 marks 60 years of Cystic Fibrosis Trust. This CF Week, we will be marking this milestone and celebrating our amazing community. A community made up of people with CF. Their families and friends. Clinicians, researchers, social workers. Volunteers and campaigners. You.
Throughout the week, we will raise awareness of what it means to live with a life limiting condition like CF and we will share your stories and experiences. The ups, the downs and everything in between.
To all of you, thank you for speaking out, for sharing your stories – your CF truths, and for helping us open up conversations about CF.
We’ll also be reflecting on the past six decades: the moments of hope and frustration, the challenges and breakthroughs, and the vital discoveries in CF understanding and treatment.
Much progress has been made in the past 60 years – we really have come so far! But we know that the journey is not over yet. Alongside new opportunities, we know that every day the community are facing new challenges and obstacles – it can feel relentless. But know that we are here for you. Today and every day. Because we won’t stop until CF does.
As ever, we will all be donning yellow – myself included – for Wear Yellow Day on Friday 21 June. Every year, I am amazed at the sea of yellow that floods our social media channels, all in the name of fundraising and awareness. It’s a sight to behold and I encourage everyone to get involved and make this Wear Yellow Day the biggest, brightest and yellow-est of our 60 years!
Every penny raised means that we can continue to be there for everyone with CF. Advocating for improved care, offering information and support to help the CF community, and funding vital research to create essential new treatments that work for everyone.
Thank you again for uniting with us this CF Week. Together, as one unstoppable community, we can make sure that everyone with CF can live a life unlimited.
