People with life long, life-limiting conditions like cystic fibrosis are particularly at risk from exposure to tobacco and vapes, which may cause flare-ups or irritate the airways. We're delighted that the Tobacco and Vapes Bill has finally become law, ending the sale of cigarettes to anyone born after 1 January 2009.
But we're calling on the government to go further by extending the smoking ban to some outdoor spaces, like outside schools and hospitals. People with CF should be able to access these spaces without being exposed to second hand smoke.
