In Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, people don’t have to pay for prescriptions but in England prescription charges still apply. However, people with certain medical conditions can get free NHS prescriptions if they have a valid medical exemption certificates. Cystic fibrosis is not on the exemption list; however, you may have another medical condition which is on the list (ie diabetes).
Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) lets you get as many NHS prescriptions as you need for a set price. If you regularly pay prescription charges, a PPC could save you money. If you need help with the cost of purchasing your first annual PPC, please contact our Helpline on 0300 373 1000 or email@example.com.
