The PIF TICK

Cystic Fibrosis Trust is a trusted creator of health and care information.

PIF TICK

Cystic Fibrosis Trust is part of the PIF TICK accreditation scheme, run by the Patient Information Forum (PIF).

This means that Cystic Fibrosis Trust is a ‘trusted information creator’. Following assessment, it was awarded the UK’s only quality mark for print and online health and care information. You can be assured that what you are reading, watching or listening to is evidence-based, understandable, jargon-free, up-to-date and produced to the best possible standard.

  • Why is it so important for Cystic Fibrosis Trust to have the PIF TICK?

We produce high quality health information to support people affected by CF. The PIF TICK recognises this quality. We want you to feel confident you can trust our health information.

  • What does it mean for people who use our information?

The PIF TICK logo makes it quick and easy to spot trusted information. Accurate, accessible, evidence-based information from organisations like Cystic Fibrosis Trust will help people like you:

    • make the best decisions about their health
    • get the support they need
    • be more involved in their care.
  • How did Cystic Fibrosis Trust get PIF TICK?

PIF TICK is awarded after a thorough application and assessment process by the Patient Information Forum. To be recognised as trusted information creators, we had to show our production process meets PIF’s essential criteria for trustworthy information.

  • How does Cystic Fibrosis Trust create trustworthy information?

We create the best possible health information by following these steps:

Step 1 – Identifying a user need (project proposal)

Step 2 – Consulting with users

Step 3 – Content creation, using up-to-date reliable evidence and meeting literacy, language and accessibility needs in our writing. Involving users and clinical experts in the development of the information.

Step 4 – Review by CF clinical professionals

    Step 5 – User feedback

Step 6 – Designing the information to make it both appealing, accessible and easy to use

Step 7 – Promoting the information so it can reach those who need it

Step 8 – Evaluating the information and measuring the impact

  • Where will the PIF TICK be displayed?

All the information we create following these steps will get the PIF TICK mark. Keep an eye on our website to see the TICK popping up on more of our information in the future.
